We just arrived in Cancún
We arrived in Cancún yesterday night after having spent some days in Bacalar. We figured that for flying to Cuba, Cancún is the best and cheapest option to go there. So we booked ourselves a hostel (The Mermaid hostel BEACH) for 4 ninghts until we fly to Cuba on Friday.
TO get to Cancún, you can take an ADO bus, which takes about 5 hours. It was really convenient and since they have big seats and AC you can't complain. We paid 400 pesos each for the bus, which is 20 Euros.

Cancún is as hot as Bacalar, no joking, you`re just sweating ALL THE TIME! But I don't wanna complain, it's lovely finally being in the summer climate :)
Our hostel was a 15 minute Uber ride away from the bus station, and it's directly by the beach - so nice! Everything is really clean and spacious, we have our own showe and bathroom, and the best part: A//C IN THE ROOM!

After leaving our stuff there, we were really hungry so we went out to go eat dinner. We found a sweet restaurant that offers seafood and Mexican food, and was directly by the beach. The food we gt there was AMAZING and not expensive at all! I had a salmon steak with veggies and rice, and Hans had some fish as well. It's just the best when being by the ocean to eat some fresh and well-prepared fish!

The staff there was outstanding! So nice, polite and always ready to provide us with whatever we needed. We talked to the waiter for a long time about his time in Cancún, how the city developed over the past 30 years and so on... it was great experience, with an even greater view.
Dinner with a view
After our dinner, we went back to the hostel to get ready for the night. Even though we were really tired from the long travel day, we wanted to see downtown Cancún. So we took an Uber to the Parque las Palapas, that was recommended to us by one of the hostel owners. It's a nice actually big park where Mexicans hang out at night time - seriously there were almost no tourists, which was amazing! They have nice food and drinks and it's just a great atmosphere sitting there and watching the nightlife.

After our good night beer we went home around midnight and fell into our comfy beds
What a day - it's nice to be in Cancún :)
